After more than a decade of working with athletes, our community, and unforgettable training experiences with Challenge Tri Camp, we’re entering a new chapter. This isn’t a step away from what we’ve created, it’s the evolution of it. Over the years, our coaching philosophy has grown, our understanding of athlete development has deepened, and the demands of modern endurance sport have changed. It’s time for our coaching system to reflect that.
A key part of this evolution has been adapting and improving elements of the coaching practices often associated with the Norwegian approach. We’ve taken what works, strengthened it, and tailored it to our athletes and standards. We’ve taken the best of what’s proven to work in high-performance endurance training worldwide and integrated it into a system built on discipline, consistency and performance.
That’s why we’re transitioning to a new company identity and introducing The Method a clearer, more structured, and more progressive approach to coaching. The Method brings together everything we’ve learned from thousands of coached sessions, training camps, and race-day experiences, and turns it into a system that supports athletes at every stage of their journey.
This shift allows us to deliver coaching that is more personalised, more consistent, and more aligned with long-term performance development.
Challenge Tri Camp has been our foundation.
The Method is our future.

The Method is a structured, disciplined training system built to remove guesswork and replace it with precise pacing control, smart recovery habits, and consistent aerobic development. It focuses on doing the right work at the right intensity, understanding your feedback, and making targeted adjustments that drive long-term progress.
It’s not about smashing sessions or chasing fatigue.
It’s about building durable fitness that actually holds up on race day.
In a few words, that’s what The Method is about. However, a short description will never truly do it justice. The real value lies in how the principles are applied to the individual athlete, their goals, lifestyle, strengths and limitations. If you’d like to understand how the Method works in practice and whether it’s right for you, book a Discovery Call and let’s have a conversation. We’d love to learn more about your goals and show you how The Method could help you achieve them.
The right work. The right intensity. The right results.
That’s the Method.
The Method is for every athlete beginners, age-groupers, and high performers because the principles are universal: structure, consistency, and controlled intensity.
What changes is how the coach applies those principles.
The Method is delivered through a coaching process that adapts to the individual athlete their fitness, their experience, their goals, and the reality of their life. Some athletes need more volume, some need more recovery, some need tighter pacing control. The coach shapes the Method to fit the athlete, not the other way around.
It works for athletes balancing work, family, stress, and everything else life throws at them. It works for athletes chasing PBs, Kona slots, or simply wanting to train properly without burning out.
The goal is simple: build athletes who are stronger, faster, more resilient, and able to perform when it matters using a system that fits their life, their body, and their goals.
The Method is for everyone.
The coach makes it individual.
Testing is used to set accurate training zones and control intensity not to chase numbers. The Method relies on precise threshold control, scaled for real athletes, using structured field tests, controlled intervals with feedback, heart-rate and pace analysis, and occasional lactate checks during coaching days.
Our zone structure has been refined and validated over many years, and testing is repeated periodically to update those zones as your fitness changes, ensuring every session targets the correct physiological system.
Progress is tracked through objective patterns session repeatability, heart-rate drift, threshold stability, recovery trends, volume tolerance, race-specific execution, long-term durability, and overall consistency. These markers create a clear, predictable picture of how your body is adapting. But progress isn’t just data; it’s also psychological.
As you train with clarity and structure, you develop stronger pacing confidence, trust in your decision-making, a more controlled mindset, and the ability to stay composed when sessions feel deceptively manageable.
That shift from doubt to “I can do this” is a performance tool in itself, and a direct outcome of training with purpose, precision, and repeatability.
Threshold is the intensity where you’re working hard but still in control, the point just before fatigue rises sharply. It’s the sweet spot for building sustainable, high-quality fitness.
Not to start with. This becomes an option later in The Method, but for most athletes we use reliable, accessible tools heart rate, pace, power, RPE, and the important talk test to guide threshold work accurately without needing equipment or too much technology.
Threshold training is the hub of The Method. It builds aerobic power, improves control, increases durability, and allows you to repeat quality sessions without unnecessary fatigue.
Multi-threshold days are used in many elite endurance systems, but only when intensity control is close to perfect. They involve completing multiple controlled threshold sessions in a single day at the same steady intensity, and can be highly effective when the athlete has the right foundation. They’re not suitable for everyone, and before introducing this type of work an athlete needs solid consistency, good recovery habits, stable pacing discipline, and the ability to handle threshold sessions without excessive fatigue. As always, The Method is scaled to the athlete never the athlete forced to fit the method.
As part of The Method, you’ll see updated terminology around zones, intensity control, and session structure. This creates clearer communication and helps you understand exactly what each session is designed to achieve.
From the beginning, The Method has been built on two non-negotiables: sub-threshold control and training discipline. Most athletes train too hard, too often, and it destroys consistency, progression, and long-term health.
We stay below true threshold because that’s where sustainable, repeatable work happens the work that builds durability, aerobic depth, and resilience. Sub-threshold is sustainable; tempo is not. And while “hero workouts” look impressive on paper, they don’t win races. Discipline does.
The Method is built on strict pacing, heart-rate control, avoiding spikes, monitoring fatigue, and designing sessions that can be repeated week after week. This is the foundation of our coaching process precision over ego, execution over chaos, and long-term performance over short-term bravado.
Most importantly, it’s about understanding what we’re achieving together: a clear, structured way of training that makes sense, delivers results, and gives every athlete a deeper understanding of why the Method works and how it applies to them.
Brent and Nick have built a reputation for delivering some of the most effective training camps for triathletes and swimmers in the UK and Mallorca over a solid 15-year period, grounded in real coaching, real experience, and real results. We’re full-time coaches who have raced, competed, and lived the sport ourselves and we bring that experience directly into how we coach. Our background spans high-performance training, long- and short-course racing, open-water swimming, adventure racing, and years of working with athletes at every level.
The Method is the product of that experience: a system shaped by thousands of coached sessions, countless camps, and a coaching process that adapts the principles of structured training and controlled intensity to each individual athlete to make them winners. We coach with clarity, honesty, and precision, and everything we do is built around helping athletes understand the process, trust the work, and achieve more than they thought possible.

Consistency and performance are built on clear communication and a coaching environment that reflects the principles of The Method. To support this, we are introducing our own dedicated community hub a central space open to all athletes, whether coached or not. Coached athletes will have full access to structured guidance, session reviews, resources, and direct support. Non-coached athletes will have access to a limited but still highly valuable set of tools, insights, and educational content designed to help them train smarter and understand the principles behind structured training and controlled intensity.
This hub creates a consistent, repeatable communication system that supports every athlete while maintaining coaching clarity and efficiency. Transparency extends to pricing and support everything is clear, structured, and easy to understand. Athletes know exactly what they receive, how they are supported, and the framework behind their investment.
This is our commitment to long-term excellence, consistent execution, and a professional coaching standard for every athlete we work with. It reflects the values of The Method: clarity, accuracy, and a performance-driven environment built for athletes and coaches who want to progress the right way and contribute to a culture of continual improvement.
As an integrated part of The Method, we are introducing a thriving community built around shared experiences. We are developing a dedicated community area within the website structure where athletes can interact, learn, and support each other through discussions, shared resources, and regular coach updates.
Alongside this, we will be launching a full calendar of super training days, performance weekends, and immersive training camps designed to bring athletes together, elevate skills, and create unforgettable moments. This evolution strengthens the heart of The Method: connection, progress, and the power of doing it together.
